The wait is finally over for Tata fans! Tata Motors has officially revealed the 2026 Punch Facelift ahead of its launch on January 13, and it is packing some serious upgrades.

1. A Bold New “EV-Inspired” Look
The first thing you will notice is the fresh face. The 2026 Punch takes heavy design inspiration from its electric sibling, the Punch EV.
- The Front: It features a new split headlamp setup and a vertically oriented headlamp cluster, similar to the EV version. However, to differentiate it from the EV, the ICE (petrol) version gets a completely blacked-out finish for the front bumper.
- The Rear: The back gets a stylish makeover with a new connected LED tail-light setup and a reworked bumper.
- Wheels: You also get a new set of 16-inch alloy wheels that add to its butch stance.
2. Premium Interior & Bigger Screens
Tata has overhauled the cabin to make it feel more upmarket, borrowing features from the Nexon and Altroz.
3. The Engine We Were Waiting For: Turbo Petrol!
This is the biggest mechanical update. While the reliable 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and CNG engines remain, Tata is finally adding a 1.2-litre Turbo Petrol engine to the Punch lineup.
- Expected Power: This engine is derived from the Nexon and is expected to produce around 120 PS and 170 Nm of torque.
- Transmission: It will likely be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCA automatic gearbox.
4. Safety First: 6 Airbags Standard
Tata continues its legacy of safety. The new base variants, now starting with the ‘Smart’ trim, come with 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and ISOFIX child seat mounts as standard.
- High-Tech Safety: Higher variants will feature a 360-degree camera and a Blind View Monitor, making parking in tight city spots a breeze.
5. New Variants & Expected Price
The variant lineup has been reshuffled. The 2026 Punch will be offered in six broad trims: Smart, Pure, Pure Plus, Adventure, Accomplished, and Accomplished Plus S.
- Launch Date: January 13.
- Expected Price: The price is likely to start from Rs 6 lakh and go up to Rs 9.50 lakh – Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
